Melissa Armstrong

Melissa Armstrong has over 16 years clinical experience working in government agencies delivering clinical social work services. She has post graduate qualifications in family therapy and for the last 8 years has worked as a Senior Clinician within Child and Youth Mental Health Services. She has completed specialist training, supervision and has a wealth of clinical experience in the application of Family Based Treatment of Adolescent Anorexia Nervosa and Attachment Based Family Therapy for depressed and suicidal adolescents. Melissa provides both individual and family therapy for the treatment of mental health difficulties in children and young people. She is recognised for her ability to easily develop positive therapeutic relationships with both children, adolescents and their caring network. Melissa provides a Medicare rebate for all consultations (if you have a doctor’s referral.)

Bachelor of Social Work (UQ), Graduate Cert-Family Therapy

Consulting Days

Fortnightly Mondays (1:00pm – 5:00pm) Fortnightly Saturdays (8:30am – 12:30pm)

Special Interests

Adolescents/ young adults. Providing family therapy for treatment of adolescent emotional difficulties. Working with families who have a child/adolescent experiencing mental health difficulties. Treatments: Family Based Treatment of Adolescent Anorexia Nervosa and Attachment Based Family Therapy for depressed and suicidal adolescents
