Judy Lockhart is an experienced speech pathologist who has worked in private practice, mental health, developmental and educational services with children and young people. She has experience in individual and group therapy, telehealth (online speech pathology services) and consultation/parent education services. She has completed Bachelor of Speech Pathology, The University of Queensland in 1995 and a Masters of Communication Disorders, Macquarie University in 2004. Judy has worked in Australia, United Kingdom and United States. She focuses on supporting children to use their communication to develop social, emotional, behaviour and academic skills.
Judy specialises in working with children who struggle with social skills and emotional regulation (supporting language and communication skills to support development of social and emotional skills), children who have Developmental Language Disorder (or at risk of DLD which is the new term for Specific Language Impairment), children who are reluctant to communicate, have anxiety related to communication or selectively mute to support, children who are late to talk (that is those children aged approximately 1-3 who are not yet talking or using age appropriate speech and language), young people with communication difficulties who want to improve skills for work, general speech and language services to children and young people aged 0-22 years of age to support language learning and literacy.
